Idukki Arch Dam
It is Asia’s first arch dam and the world’s second. It is 550ft tall and 650ft wide. The dam is surrounded by the beautiful Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary. You can go fro treks in the area and spot some wild animals.
The dam is built across the Kuravan and Kurathi hills, and is the major supplier of water to the nearby districts. The Cheruthoni, Idukki and Kulamavu dams form a 33-sq.km water reservoir.
