Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary

This wildlife sanctuary is flanked by the reservoir of the Idukki Arch Dam and the dams at Cheruthoni and Kulamavu. Interested tourists can go trekking and boating here. The lake covers a large part of the sanctuary.

The sanctuary is 100km from Cochin and 40km from Thodupuzha. The Idukki wildlife sanctuary spreads over 70sq.km of forest between the Periyar and Cheruthoni rivers. The wildlife here is similar to that found in Thekkady wildlife sanctuary.
