Mattuppetty
The lake and the dam here take the same name as the town. The Mattupetty Hydroelectric dam is an important one in south India. It is located 12km from Munnar.
The lake and nearby areas are waterholes for elephants. You could probably spot a herd or so here. Located 1,700m above sea level, Mattupetty is good for trekking and walks.
